Kastner's Give Back To Community.

The YMCA is pleased to announce that a new St. Charles (MO) Family YMCA Early Childhood Education Center is currently under construction at 3456 Harry S. Truman Blvd. The new center, on the campus of collection agency Client Services, Inc. (CSI) is scheduled to open in late February.

A significant gift from John and Debbie Kastner helped make the new facility possible. The Kastners donated $260,000 for the build-out of the center. Mr. Kastner, founder and CEO of CSI, also has offered to subsidize the cost of childcare at the center for CSI employees. "CSI is committed to our St. Charles community and we were pleased to partner with the YMCA to offer a new, top-notch child care facility for our neighbors and our employees," said Kastner.

The center's 6,000-square-foot facility will include a commercial kitchen, two playgrounds with all new equipment and a six-foot privacy fence, classrooms and offices. The new facility was designed specifically to meet modern child care facility standards. The center's abundant windows offer a bright atmosphere; and the center is tucked at the rear of the CSI campus to offer additional privacy and distance from traffic.

"We're very eager to offer this exceptional new center to our existing St. Charles families and new enrollees," said Aaron Berkenwald, director of the St. Charles Family YMCA Early Childhood Education Center. "Our staff and the families we serve are excited to have a wonderful new physical space that equals the high quality of care the YMCA provides."

The new facility will allow the center to offer services to more area families. Nearly 60 children will transfer from the current center at 1524 Heritage Landing in St. Charles. That facility will close when the new center opens.

The St. Charles Family YMCA ECEC serves children ages six weeks to six years. Hours of operation: 6 am to 6:30 p.m. Rates vary based on the age of the child and number of days attending. Financial assistance is available. The center is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
